Family Constellations

Family / systemic constellations is a therapeutic approach designed to help reveal the hidden dynamics in a family, system or relationship.

This alternative approach supports viewing the concern from a different perspective utilizing representations for the different people or elements involved in the issue.

The work can be done one on one or in a group.

Objects or other participants represent people, emotions, ties, contracts, loyalties or parts of the client’s system.

Seeing patterns and relationships between the parts of the system often helps to gain insight into challenges that are experienced today

What gets revealed can be connected to:

~ the beliefs that their family may have held onto for generations in order to survive . . .

~a family’s rules around belonging . . .

~ a family’s trauma history and identity . . .

~ significant events or people that have shaped sense of self, feelings, emotions and interpretations of past and present experiences . . .

~ rules around what can be shown or seen . . .

and much more.

“I am convinced that Constellation Work, with its systemic worldview and the gift of the opportunity to stand as a representative in a constellation, is one of the most relevant and important tools to support us as we navigate our evolution into our future. I am convinced because I have stood in powerful constellations, and I’ve had the felt experience of being guided to unexpected resolutions by some unseen hand, of knowing that we are parts of a larger whole, of knowing that, in one sense, we are not individuals, but rather human systems of relating, of knowing that the Here and Now contains both the past and the future, undivided.

I have experienced deeply held beliefs transform in minutes and hate and fear and frozen hearts dissolve,

Entanglements can be undone.

Love can prevail.”‍ ‍

Hunter Beaumont, one of the early supporters of Family Constellations, a collaborator and co-author with Bert Hellinger.

He helped bring the work to the English speaking world.

  • “I am so glad that Kirstin has been my guide in family constellations. It’s hard to explain what happens during these sessions or how they’ve made an imprint on me. Awe. Wonder. Opening…. Perhaps I’ll be processing these constellations for the rest of my life. If you feel drawn to this work, you’re in good hands with Kirstin.”
